Ghee Mysore Pak

() Traditional South Indian Sweet.() During Diwali in so many houses they prepare mysorepak.
Also, Krishna Sweets (Coimbatore) Mysore pak is very famous.
They make Mysore pak with full of Ghee and Melts in our mouth.
Am trying to get that texture and taste for so many years, without much success.

Here goes the Mysore Pak.

Ingredients Needed:1. Besan (Gram Flour ) 1 cup
2. Sugar 1-1/2 cups
3. Ghee 1-1/2 cups to 2 cups
4. Water 3/4 cup
5. Little sugar to sprinkle on top of Mysore Pak.

Besan Mixed with ghee

Method:
1.Heat Ghee and mix with Besan and Keep it Aside.
2. Take Sugar, add water (separately) and bring it to a boil with one string consistency.
3. When Sugar Syrup comes to a string consistency, pour this Besan mixture and gradually and mix well.
4. When the Mysore Pak gathers to the centre, it is time to pour onto a greased plate. (Ghee)
5. Sprinkle some Sugar on top.
6. When it is still warm, cut into required shapes.

you know, this template of yours is not very consistent. Sometimes your writings are not seen actually. Only the pictures. Could you please, chose a new tempate? It would be great. Only thing is you need to copy your links from the template and just paste it on to the new template... dont want such a nice blog not to be user friendly.

ooh! my favorite sweet! I like the texture of MP to be crispy and light with lots of holes, although most people seem to prefer the soft, melt-in-the-mouth version.

Looks good MT!

cheers!

Scientists at the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) have recently developed Herbal Ghee. The new products have the taste, flavor, color and consistency of traditional ghee. But, instead of being hazardous ghee, this form of ghee boosts the immune system and guards against cholesterol related problems and is beneficial for people suffering from cardio-vascular diseases and blood pressure. It also strengthens the arteries.

The younger generation is crazy about their fitness throughout and even elderly people are also not ready to accept their ageing realities, all want to look young and vibrant forever without taking medicine. The solution lies in functional foods that provide medication rejuvenating vital component through foods.

People have now accepted the philosophy “Prevention is better than cure” well in their day-to-day life.

Here’s the best news. The new healthy herbal ghee launched by Punjab Sind will not only retain the taste, flavor, color and consistency of traditional ghee but also boost the immune system, guard against cholesterol-related problems. So get ready to dig into ghee – and not feel guilty about it!

Punjab Sind Pvt Ltd is the first company to launch this Herbal Ghee in market and is now available at its retail outlets at various malls, shopping centers and its own shops all over Mumbai.

hii,
the recipe was good but there is another traditional way of making soft mysore pak,
first u should make the sugar syrup by adding very little water and boil it till string consistency,
then u should add besa flour and mix well without lumps, after this the crucial step u must slowly add ghee litlle by little every 2 minutes strring each time u must add eual quantities of besan flour and ghee,u must not add all the ghee at once, this mysore pak will be soft melts in the mouth.
cool and cut into peices

hi MT,
Your recipe looks soft in texture and easy to swallowed into the mouth.
I have tried this recipe for diwali occasion, it came out well. But onething the sweets is cruncy inside and outside part. I didn't get soft texture. I adapted the same measurement for the required ingredients. But getting sugar consistency i added flour and stirred continously after that i added little by little ghee slowly and stirring simultaneously i got porous in the mixture i removed the pan.

HI ABi,
I think you cooked this mixture for extra minutes. Whenever making burfis or any sweet when the item leaves on side swith off the sotove and stir briskly for 3 to 5 minutes , you will get soft textured sweet. Thanks.
