* Deep fried item.
* Flavored with Coconut and Elaichi.

Ingredients Needed:For Batter

2. Urad Dal less than 1/4 cup
3. Salt to taste.

2. Jaggery - 1/2 cup
3. Grated Coconut - 1/4 cup

Your suyyam sounds like a brother to kerala sukhiyan(I had blogged fw wks back)...the only difference being that we add whole green gram instead of the chana dal!!...What an amazing variety we have, right?..thanx for sharing...

Hey MT,

Nice suyyams. We also prepare suyyams at home, but with bananas. We select the overripe bananas, and mix them with powdered sugar and cardamoms, maida, and a little rice flour (optional). We mix the above ingredients together and deep fry! It makes for a nice evening snack, and also prevents us from wasting the overripe bananas! I loved the moving pictures posted at the head of your blog: very impressive and eyecatching! I agree one hundred percent with your subtitle"measure and method must always be right". That is so very true. The same dish cooked by the same person can taste different when cooked on two different occasions! Even a slight change in the proportion of any one ingredient or in the cooking process, can adversely alter the taste!
